Before you start
- The target WhatsApp account is already available in the client and has corresponding message access.
- Know whether you're looking for individual or group conversations, and the approximate time range.
Where to find it

First determine which records need to be synchronized #
Message synchronization is used to synchronize previous chat history of a certain WhatsApp account to the system. Before you start, confirm the target account, then determine whether you need individual chat or group chat, and which period of time you are going to search for content.
It is different from sending a new message to a contact, nor can it be directly used as a complete backup of the entire account. This article only explains the synchronization options clearly listed in the data, and does not assume that all historical records can be retrieved at once.
Choose the right WhatsApp account #
- Open the message sync tool.
- Select the WhatsApp account you want to sync.
- Check account identities to avoid choosing the wrong target between multiple accounts.
- If the target account is currently unavailable, check its connection status before performing synchronization.
Prepare a known historical test message as a verification basis to help determine whether the synchronization result belongs to the correct account and session.
Set type, time and quantity #
| Options | How to determine |
|---|---|
| Individual or group | Select by the type of conversation you are looking for |
| News how long ago | Cover the time period of the target message |
| Number of messages | Set as needed and interface allowed range |
The three options together determine the scope of what you are prepared to handle. Viewing an individual conversation but selecting a group, or the target message is older than the selected time, may result in the intended content being outside the scope of this session. The upper limit and default value should be based on the current page.
Perform synchronization and wait for results #
- Double-check the account, session type, time range, and number of messages.
- Perform synchronization according to the operations provided by the current interface.
- If the page displays processing status, check the status and prompts first to avoid continuous repeated submissions while the task is still being processed.
- After processing, enter the target session under the same account and search for pre-selected historical test messages.
- Check the message content, conversation object and time period, rather than just checking whether there are more records in the list.
When the expected record is not found #
Check in turn whether the account and conversation are correct, whether the individual or group type matches, whether the target content falls within the selected time range, and whether the number of messages is sufficient to cover the needs. Account connections and current prompts should also be checked.
This information does not specify whether synchronization automatically merges duplicate records, whether existing content is overwritten, the synchronization scope of attachments, or the period during which historical messages are available. When encountering these problems, you should record the specific choices and results, confirm the current behavior first, and do not directly expand the scope and repeat the operation.
Check your result
- Find the expected range of historical test messages in the correct session for the selected account.
- The person/group type matches the session being checked.
- The synchronization results are checked against the set time and quantity ranges.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there still no all chat history after synchronization?
Synchronization has a choice of session type, time and number of messages and is not equivalent to getting the full history. Check the current scope first, and then check the current prompts and available content.
Can I click sync continuously to speed it up?
The documentation does not describe concurrent or duplicate synchronization mechanisms. Check the current processing status and results first, and then decide whether it needs to be reinitiated to avoid using repeated submissions instead of troubleshooting.
Will synchronization overwrite the original message or automatically remove duplicates?
This material does not describe coverage and deduplication rules and should not be guaranteed. You can verify the current behavior on a small test range before you need to process important records.

Menus and features may vary by client version or account access. Follow the current interface and verify critical workflows with a test account first.
